You seem to have everyone's buy in, you've made the proposal and
provided reasoning. Lazy consensus can come into play because you're
doing the work so I say go for it, if someone objects it can be dealt
with, but it doesn't look like anyone will.
This is a change and, so, IIUC falls under the RTC process. Otherwise,
go for it.
