Vamsavardhana Reddy commented on GERONIMO-2283:
-----------------------------------------------

Regarding the groupId part of the issue, I am noticing on Windows that the
groupId filled in upon selecting a file is the directory name in which the jar
file is located. I don't see much of a problem with that. The problem I
notice is with the artifactId and version. When I select a file like
"utils-1-r118.jar", the filled in artifactId is "utils-1" and version is "r118".

> When selecting a file for the repository portlet, it selected the version
> number as the group ID. It should probably default to a blank group ID and
> make the user enter it -- the best it can select from the file name is
> probably the artifact, version, and type.
> Also, it should have an option where you pick a JAR and it gives you the
> dependency syntax you need to add that JAR to the classpath for an
> application or other Geronimo module.
