The debug message seems to imply that tomcat tried to load an SSL
implementation but it was not available in the classloader. When you say that
the message is misleading do you mean it is incorrect (i.e. loading the class
actually did not fail) or that the message should have been worded better so it
won't look like an error has occurred?
