Jean-Jacques Parent commented on GERONIMODEVTOOLS-473:
------------------------------------------------------

My EAR file is more than 30M !! Can't attach it in JIRA and may be too much by
email. Whatever, I am not sure I will be allowed to send it.

Please, one last question about GEP.
As I said before, sometimes the republishing process works fine.
But How should I configure GEP, to do hot deployment. Is it possible with GEP?
When I modify, for example, one JSP in a web application, GEP wants to
republish the entire ear and restarts the entire application.
For now, if I want to work with GEP, I will have to disable the automatic
publishing, do my job, and when it's done, publish the project, hoping there
won't be too much mistakes if I won't to avoid this long process of
republishing and restarting the application.
What's more, Geronimo does not keep the compiled and unchanged jsp. He has to
recompile them at each access to the application after every restart of the
server.
I give you the catalina/conf/web.xml in attachment where those configurations
should take place if I understood the documentation correctly.
Are ther other configurations?

Thanks

> I have installed wtp-all-in-one-sdk-win32 and than follow the instructions as
> suggested in
> http://geronimo.apache.org/geronimo-eclipse-plugin-installation-instructions.html.
> I have also manually installed the plugin:
> geronimo-eclipse-plugin-2.0.0-deployable.zip
> I configured the server geronimo and try to start it without deploying
> anything yet.
> In the eclipse console, a message indicates that the server startup is
> complete, but the status in Eclipse is still 'starting'.
> Indeed, the server is started, I can use the web console, but then comes the
> timeout and the server stops.
> Is it a configuration problem?
> Thanks
