For No. 3, we cannot do anything about it, before the postgresql 8.3 is 
published at a public repo.   I think i recently added 8.2 there.

For No. 2, you might want to check if the list is cached (could be done on 
purpose).   For example, does this work if you logout admin console or/and exit 
your browser?
