I was following the building guid on http://cwiki.apache.org/GMOxDOC21/how-to-build-geronimo-eclipse-plugin-from-source.html#HowtoBuildGeronimoEclipsePluginfromSource-BuildingSource, which says, skipping the test is not reccomented. However, I was already using the resulting jars. The latest builds are working great with eclipse 3.5.1 / Geronimo 2.1.

Are you building GEP testsuite? I don't know why you build GEP testsuite. Indeed, there is some issues in current testsuite. But if you only want to get the latest GEP, you don't have to build the testsuite, just "mvn clean install" under trunk.
