I tried

./console-jetty-server-3.0-SNAPSHOT/bin/geronimo -l - Dorg.apache.geronimo.spec.el.useCachedExpressionFactory=false

and

export OPTS="- Dorg.apache.geronimo.spec.el.useCachedExpressionFactory=false"
 ./console-jetty-server-3.0-SNAPSHOT/bin/geronimo -l

and got the same error each time.  What build problems did you have?
