The karaf-features-plugin needs work to make this plausible. I've started
working on this at https://[email protected]/djencks/karaf.git. So far I have
a "feature" packaging that creates a feature.xml file that contains a single
feature with the transitive dependencies of the project, similar to what the
car-maven-plugin does. This may not be all the karaf community needs. Next
steps are to add a mojo and packaging to build ".kar" files (which include the
features.xml and at least some of the bundles, and unpackable resources) and
then assemble karaf servers out of .kar files. (cf GERONIMO-5766)
