Sending this here in case others want to try this too. 1, Set MAVEN_OPTS=-Xmx1024m -XX:MaxPermSize=512M -DXorg.apache.geronimo.kernel.config.Marshaler=org.apache.geronimo.kernel.config.xstream.XStreamConfigurationMarshaler 2, Build a sample war to plugin with car-maven-plugin. 3, Check out the config.cer in the built car, you can find that all the GBeans are in XML format that is very easy to read.
