Jan van der Lugt commented on GIRAPH-237:
-----------------------------------------

This seems like a good plan. Ignoring the same files in svn might be good too.
Speaking about git, is the github mirror of Giraph broken? I haven't seen any
updates there since 2 months. Did it stop working since the svn migration?
Where should this be reported?

> I imagine that like me, some other devs too would be using git mirrors
> (apache or github) of Giraph to develop on/contribute with.
> Currently Giraph lacks a .gitignore file that excludes out common items such
> as the maven build dir ('target/'), eclipse project import files (such as
> .project, .settings/, .classpath), etc.. It would be good to have such a file
> to prevent them from showing up in {{git status}}.
