Eli Reisman commented on GIRAPH-274:
------------------------------------
incidentally, there are some hadoop CLI options you can set that get you
through without the progress calls, but these options leave your job running no
matter what, no timeouts at all, so it leads to more zombies and angry ops
people if the user who starts it forgets about it. Not a good idea, but
available if you just need to get a job to run in a pinch for now.

> Even after GIRAPH-267, jobs were failing during INPUT_SUPERSTEP when some
> workers don't get to reserve an input split, while others were loading
> vertices for a long time. (related to GIRAPH-246 and GIRAPH-267)
