Thanks for finding that out.

So, they bundle gradlew scripts but not the gradlew jar and document how to
obtain it in their README. I also compared the gradlew scripts diff (ours
vs theirs), and did not find any significant difference.
I agree, it will be easier for users if we followed a similar model. I will
change the release accordingly and create a new RC.

Please consider this RC1 cancelled for now. I will create a new one and
start a vote thread for it.
