Hi,
When we want to call a 'map' type field (either null or empty map as default),
field value comes null (not with an empty map object). This can cause NPE in
many points like serializations. I've attached a patch that fixes this issue by
using builder methods in new instance creation. I've also had to change
record.vm and re-create the avro-generated example classes.
[~lewismc], I think this can be more appropriate way of creating objects with
default values. Would you please comment about this patch?
