I don't think profiles are the right way to go because they introduce
ambiguities in the package name: is gore-core compiled against Hadoop 1 or 2?
It is not reflected in the package name. I'm proposing to switch to Hadoop 2
entirely and use the shims layer to interact with Hadoop 1. However, I need
someone else to test this as well. As soon tests finish I'll attach another
patch.
