I don't think the use case I explained is covered by that information. The property I want is per project so cannot be in $HOME/.gradle/gradle.properties. It is rarely changing but must be set so using -D or -P on the command line is to court disaster. Where a project defines a gradle.properties in SCM this is a statement about the project. The problem is that the per project property I need to set is per user as well so I do not want to amend a file that is in version control.
