Both test frameworks have a different option set which makes this rather
messy, also on the topic of reporting, would you expect 2 separate reports
or one? Or would you expect us to use the testng ability to also run the
junit tests and generate only the testng report (If both are available I'd
asume that they are migrating in one direction or the other)?

I'd be very happy to support Spock, can you log a JIRA for this, with some
info on the different ways to detect Spock tests and how to execute them?
