I have taken to assuming UTF-8 encoded files and using non-ASCII
codepoints.  So for example:

 *  Copyright © 2009 Russel Winder

This now gives compiler warnings with Gradle, where it did not a day or
so ago, and it now falls foul of the code checking in the Gradle build.

Is the Gradle code standard ASCII only test? And is this to be
enforced?

Thanks.
