Václav decided to move from using the Ant-ish mechanism of build.properties to using the more Gradle-ish mechanism of gradle.properties for specifying the versions of things. I have now removed all the Ant-ish stuff so there is no doubt as to what is going on.
Hans has made an empassioned statement that even using gradle.properties
is a bad idea and that the version should be presented explicitly and
directly only in the build.gradle file.
In the end it is Václav's decision, but I am sure he would want us all
to be happy :-)
I have problems with the flexibility of the Gradle way of doing things,
but Hans is right the Ant-ish way is more complicated.
Do we want to dispense with using the gradle.properties file?
