I haven't spent the time figuring out what's going wrong. Usually, it's
a multi-day effort to change Gradle to use a new version of Groovy, and
this time it's not looking any different. I haven't been motivated to
tackle this and I doubt I'll get round to it for the 0.9 release, unless
there's a really good reason to do so.
