Hi, We're collecting a wish list of things to remove or change in Gradle 2.0 in a spec at https://github.com/gradle/gradle/blob/master/design-docs/gradle-2.0.md
Please add whatever stuff you think would be good to clean up for 2.0 to this spec. Note that at this stage, it's just a wish list, and we're not necessarily going to do any of the stuff that's in the list and we're certainly not going to do all of it. At this stage, the plan is to finalise this list, and for those things we want to remove or change, deprecate them no later than the Gradle 1.8 release. Anything deprecated in Gradle 1.8 will be removed in Gradle 2.0. Anything deprecated after Gradle 1.8 will not be removed until Gradle 3.0 (there might be some exceptions to this). There are no concrete plans as to when Gradle 2.0 will be released.
