This has had the highest participation of any Grails conversation over the last ~9 months, which is exciting to see.
The goal of this step is to move to Apache groupids, which are required to setup snapshot publishing at ASF, which will allow us to resume development with the 18 migrated git repositories. Restoring snapshot publishing has a very high priority for the project, so we can get M4 out and then drive for RC1 and hopefully an GA in late May or early June. It has been somewhat complicated by changing artifactids and rearranging, which this was a good time to begin addressing. The decisions made here on groupids and artifactids are important, but are not set in stone and may change further before 7.0.0 or during 7.1.x or 8.0.x milestones. Further consolidation of repositories and projects should move to separate discussions, so we can finish this task and restore snapshot publishing.
