* Reviewed the 7.0.0-RC2 vote statuses * Looking to finalize 7.0.0 end of September - someone other than James D will act as release manager for next release * Geb - Geb 8 was released. Mattias is investigating if we can adopt prior to 7 releases. * Groovy 5 - Pull requests are open for compilation issues. Grails is blocked until a new version of groovy is released. * Gradle 9 - Initially will be targeted for Grails 8. - has known issues with the way we define test phases. We tried the new format in incubator-grails-gradle-publish, will need to adopt for Grails. * Reproducibility - PR was opened to fix Grails Core differences across OS / environments - We still have a known issue with GormServices & the order their closures are generated in * PR Discussion: https://github.com/apache/grails-core/pull/15036/files - Scott has requested we merge for 7.0.0 - We had agreed to not merge anything that would result in the need for another RC. - Discussion: contract changes are ok given the RestfulController is newer / adoption is currently low. We only require tests to merge. * Community over Code NA 2025 - Paul & James F are speaking at the Groovy Track - Paul is also speaking at the incubator track * grails-forge app hosting - can't switch grails-forge application to grails framework b/c of the CLI integration - needs updated for Groovy 4 to remove javadoc reproducibility issues - hosting still needed; open infrastructure ticket on container environment. - Replace postgres / analytics containers with ASF analytics & remove their code -James
