Dear Grails community and PMC,
I am calling a vote to archive the following Git repositories. The
content from these repositories has been consolidated and merged into
the main Grails Core repository. These repositories are no longer
actively developed or maintained as separate projects.
This vote is solely to archive the repositories (make them read-only).
We intend to keep these repositories in an archived state for the long term.
Repositories to be archived:
- https://github.com/apache/grails-doc
- https://github.com/apache/grails-forge
- https://github.com/apache/grails-wrapper
- https://github.com/apache/grails-profiles
- https://github.com/apache/grails-geb
- https://github.com/apache/grails-cache
- https://github.com/apache/grails-gradle-plugin
- https://github.com/apache/grails-data-mapping
- https://github.com/apache/grails-views
(These are also available via GitBox at gitbox.apache.org.)
### What archiving means in this context:
- The repositories will be made read-only on both GitBox and the GitHub
mirrors.
- Full history will remain intact and accessible.
- No new commits, pull requests, or issues will be accepted.
- The repositories can be unarchived in the future if needed, but we
currently plan to keep them archived long-term.
If this vote passes, I will:
1. File an INFRA Jira ticket (referencing this vote result) requesting
that Infrastructure make the repositories read-only.
Please vote on this proposal. PMC member votes are binding.

- +1 — I approve archiving these repositories
- 0 — I have no strong opinion
- -1 — I object (please explain your concerns)
This vote will remain open for at least 72 hours
