Apache Grails 8 is the next major version of the high-productivity, Apache Groovy-based framework built on Spring Boot. It is in milestone releases now, aligned with Java 21 and Spring Boot 4.1, with GORM data access across SQL and NoSQL. Grails graduated to a Top-Level Apache project last year.

Apache Grails' convention-over-configuration and rapid feedback loops turn out to be a perfect multiplier for agentic engineering: intelligent scaffolding, automated refactoring, smarter testing and documentation, and orchestrating entire features end to end - explore, plan, implement, verify, release.

As VP and PMC Chair of Apache Grails, I'll walk through both halves: what's new in Apache Grails 8, and the agentic patterns that turn its simplicity into real velocity.

It's a hybrid event. I'll be there in person at Object Computing's training room in St. Louis, or you can join online from anywhere.

Thursday, August 13. 6:30 PM CT. Free to attend.
