Hi,

is there the possibility to add some very important features to the chart 2?

Some years back, Howard Wainer published a very interesting commentary in the American Statistician (1984):

*How to display data badly*
The article can be downloaded from http://www.rci.rutgers.edu/~roos/Courses/grstat502/wainer.pdf and I recommend to read it independent of this issue.

The article discusses various measures that point to how badly a graphic is:
1. the data density index (ddI, see p138 aka p2)
2. the data-ink ratio (see p139, aka p3)
3. perceptual distorsion (see p139-140, aka p3-4)
4. there are many more

Could OOo implement some of these measures? It would be really interesting to have some feedback when graphing something, to see how good the chosen method is.

Very informative reading indeed.

Sincerely,

Leonard
