Hi all, I am fixing i24362. I broken at void ImplGetLogFontFromFontSelect( )(vcl\win\source\gdi\salgdi3.cxx) and found rLogFont.lfFaceName has been subtitute with a similar script. For example, when I choose "Arial" as a result the "Arial" has been subtitute with "Arial Unicode MS".
Herbert Duerr has told me what the role of "glyph fallback feature". here is what he said: "Glyph fallback" happens when the selected font cannot display a text, because it doesn't support the text. For example the font "Comic Sans" doesn't know anything about chinese ideograms. When someone selects this font and writes chinese text, then there are two ways to handle it: 1. display nothing or empty rectangles 2. use another font that can display the text The "glyph fallback" feature implements option 2. when I use the font's FamilyName replace the rLogFont.lfFaceNam,the problem has been solved but there is another problem comes up,the double quotation marks has been rotated and when I export as PDF the third line characters display some squarenesses(please check the attachment). Do you have any other good ideas? Another interesting problem: I directly set a breakpoint at ::CreateFontIndirectW() in HFONT WinSalGraphics::ImplDoSetFont()(vcl\win\source\gdi\salgdi3.cxx),when I input some Chinese Characters and select it,then choose a Font(i.e. Arial),as a result I can break at the function. but when I input some English Characters and select it,then choose a Font(i.e. Arial),I can't break at the function. I still find any Chinese Font has this problem too. Actually, the Chinese Font which has this problem didn't have GSUB table. I don't know how to solve it,perhaps it is unable to solve, the problem is typeface itself. But I pay attention to the problem of English Font. Could anybody please give me some suggestion? Thanks a lot. BestRegard LiuJianli
