[Bullets lost when loading in 2.4.1]
for 2.4.2. From the issue report, I gather that this can be fixed only
in 2.4.x according to the OOo 2.x target milestone.
My comments in the issue report:
This issue has carried forward to OOo 3.0. Opening the OOo 3.0 .odp file
in the following (all linux) resulted in complete loss of the bullets &
indentations/paragraph formating:
- OOo 2.4.1
- Ubuntu OOo 2.4.1
- StarOffice 8
- Lotus Symphony 1
Note: Opening in StarOffice 9 Beta was fine
Now the interesting part is: if the OOo 3.0 Impress file is saved as an
MS Office Powerpoint file (.ppt), that file opens just fine in the above
and retains all the bullets & indentations. Pretty embarrassing that OOo
3.0 Impress can save as .ppt and retain it's bullets & formating, but
saving as an .odp and opening in earlier versions of OOo it does not.
hmm, as christian stated in the duplicate issue 93719 the engineering
efforts for this fix is pretty high, so a solution in the time frame of
2.4.2 is not possible. We now have 8 votes and 4 duplicates for this
issue, I now would like to ask the Graphics team to have a closer look
to this issue and come with a more precise effort estimation for a fix.
