Dear Apache Griffin community, The Apache Software Foundation (ASF) Board delegates day-to-day oversight of projects to their Project Management Committees (PMCs). This self-governance model allows each project to set its own direction, maintain its own development culture, and thrive as a volunteer-driven community, provided there are enough active participants to keep the project healthy.
Unfortunately, Apache Griffin has shown no visible activity in recent months and has not been submitting its required quarterly reports to the ASF Board. Without those reports, the Board loses the ability to monitor the project’s health and to ensure that we are providing the resources you need to succeed. This message is therefore both a call for maintainers and a notice of next steps: If you are willing and able to help keep Apache Griffin alive, please speak up on the dev@ list now. We need at least three active PMC members who can commit to regular oversight, basic project maintenance, and quarterly reporting. If fewer than three maintainers step forward before the next Board meeting on September 24, the Board will proceed with a formal resolution to terminate the project and move it to the Apache Attic. Please discuss this matter openly on the dev@ list and decide together whether you wish to continue the project or allow it to be retired. Thank you for your prompt attention. Cheers, Sander Striker -- Board Chair, The Apache Software Foundation
