As I was not present at the conference I can not follow the discussion, but we should really release 2.4.6. There now there are 61 issues fixed:

https://issues.apache.org/jira/issues/?jql=project%20%3D%20GROOVY%20AND%20fixVersion%20%3D%202.4.6%20ORDER%20BY%20due%20ASC%2C%20priority%20DESC%2C%20created%20ASC

The last release was 3 and a half months ago. :( Anything I can do to help get 2.4.6 out of the door?

I also think we should release a 2.5 beta soon.

Cheers,
Pascal

Hey guys,
regarding Artifactory:
https://groovy.artifactoryonline.com/ is up and running (for couple of months now). We didn't make any plans regarding the migration of the old artifacts (snapshots or releases) from http://oss.jrog.org, let me know if you need it and we'll start planning it. Also, it guess it makes sense to make the repo available at http://repo.groovy-lang.org/

Cheers, can't wait for 2.5.0!

    Hi Pascal,

Yes, there are a few things we need to do:

    - migrate to our dedicated Artifactory Online instance for
uploading. This will let us have a proper staging phase, instead
of relying on Bintray. This requires some changes to the build
steps. I need to check with Baruch what is the status of this, and
    how we migrate.
    - work on automating uploading sources and convenience binaries to
SVN. This was particularly painful the last time, and I talked to
Marco Vermeulen during GGX, who is willing to help us automate that.

We also talked about changing the way we release from TC to avoid
relying on GH clones, but I don't recall what was the plan on
that. Baruch suggested the idea, so he may remember :)

Yes I think it would be good to have Graeme's PRs merged into
2.4.6 before the release. As for the preparation of the
release itself, I didn't have time to coordinate yet. I'll be
at GGX London next week, so I'll try to find some time.

Please could my pull requests be merged before 2.4.6?

+1. Last time we did the release during S2GX, and we
determined that there were improvements to be made. I'd
like to set this up asap so that releasing is easier
next time, so I'll contact back the guys about this, to
make sure they follow the discussions.

                Hello everybody,

what about (a) new release(s) to celebrate becoming
                top level project?

There are already 38 solved issues for 2.4.6:

https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/GROOVY/fixforversion/12333530/?selectedTab=com.atlassian.jira.jira-projects-plugin:version-issues-panel

and a 2.5.0-beta before the end of the year would
                be nice.

                What do you think?

                Cheers,
                Pascal
