Commits and issues resolved have remained steady for most of the life of the project. Releases dropped in 2016 while we were becoming accustomed to the Apache Way but is now inline with pre-Apache cadence. Number of contributors has increased since joining Apache. Downloads have always increased and continue to do so. Groovy artifacts have been downloaded more than a quarter of a billion times since its inception. According to the TIOBE index for this month, Apache Groovy is the 3rd most popular programming language putting it ahead of: Go (17), Swift (18), Perl (19), R (20), Scala (36) and Kotlin (45).
