Hi Darragh,

I viewed your talk using the live video stream from the conference.

Could you provide the source code and build instructions for your demo?

of course it's only a demo but I will try to put everything together so that others can play with it as well. There were a few hacks involved (at least one ;) ) that breaks some other functionality, so I did not commit the code. May be I'll post the required patches and write a short (or rather long...) How-To to get everything up and running. Stay tuned.

I think using XUL is great idea and have been looking at by integrating
OpenOffice inside a XUL application similar to the OOoBean concept using
Mozilla's plugin (NSAPI) API.

I believe this is different to what you are trying to achieve but still
very interesting.

Yes, that's exactly the other way round to what my demo currently does. As a long-term goal, this would be the much better approach but it also requires severe changes in the way the core modules interact with the UI layer (they are not really prepared for an external UI but rather want to bring up, eg, dialogs on their own). But as long as only the functionality that the OOoBean concept provides is sufficient, this is also a nice approach.

May be you want to describe your approach in more detail and provide some code ? Would be interesting for me (and others) as well!

Regards
Stephan
