Hi Development Team,
first I like to thank you for this great tool. I made a few very
impressive papers with it with high quality drawings created with
OO-Draw. Especially I like the very good result in PDF with true vector
graphics.
Now to the less good point. I was drawing a more complex graphic in
Visio and wanted to import it in OO. It takes me around 3 days to
discover, that this is not possible in a reasonable quality. And yes, I
tried every variant of possible export formats (Windos Meta File, SVG,
pure clipboard-copy etc.) At the end I discoverd a major flaw with
Visios export capability, and I decided to kick the programm for time
beeing (see http://www.cs.uq.oz.au/~emmerik/visioeps.html).
I was drawing graphis again in Inkscape (opensource vector graphics).
But then I discoverd that OpenOffice is not able to handle an eps
graphic vector-wise. As this is a common format in the not Windos
orientated graphic world, it is a must have to create high quality
graphic in OO. This feature is already described in Todos
(http://development.openoffice.org/todo.html). Don´t know how much
effort it is to implement it, but this would really help in the graphic
area.
sincerely yours, André Ulrich
