Andy, I'm replying in English so all [email protected] read the answer. Please drop me a mail if you need a reply in German:

On Windows OpenOffice uses the default settings for antialiasing. Please check with other applications e.g. wordpad, which will probably shows the same effect. To change the antialiasing setting for Windows please enable Start->ControlCenter->Display->Appearance->UseFontSmoothing.

Acrobat ignores this setting, which may or may not be a good idea. Is it really better?

Also note that the default setting for "remote desktop" seems to be that antialiasing is disabled and cannot be enabled.
