Just a hint, because this would mean Vanilla OOo wouldn't make use of
your new code in the future, in case we really implement it:

For performance reasons we consider implementing the splash screen
natively on different systems.

If we do so, you wont be able to use any tools/vcl functionality
anymore, since this would exactly be something we would then like to
avoid - loading/initializing OOo stuff before showing the splash screen.
