I'm going to integrate finally HARMONY-3291 (Fast TLS access on Linux
(IA32&Intel64), hopefully today. Actually this is not a threading
issue, it affects JIT mainly. No stability risk, it either works or
not.

Most likely the above is what we will end up doing.  There is still a small
chance that we will commit a patch  before May 1 that addresses the "memory
leak when a thread dies" problem.
