Ed Espino created HAWQ-976:
------------------------------
Summary: Incompatible BSD 4-clause licenses
Key: HAWQ-976
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HAWQ-976
Project: Apache HAWQ
Issue Type: Bug
Reporter: Ed Espino
Assignee: Lei Chang
The following files were highlighted as being incompatible BSD 4-clause license
(http://www.apache.org/legal/resolved.html#category-a) by PMC member Justin
Mclean. He also provided a link
(ftp://ftp.cs.berkeley.edu/pub/4bsd/README.Impt.License.Change) indicating the
advertising clause has since been rescinded and this might not be an issue.
This needs to be validated.
* src/backend/port/dynloader/freebsd.c
* src/backend/port/dynloader/netbsd.c
* src/backend/port/dynloader/openbsd.c
* src/bin/gpfdist/src/gpfdist/glob.c
* src/bin/gpfdist/src/gpfdist/include/glob.h
* src/include/port/win32_msvc/glob.h
* src/port/glob.c
The third clause should be replaced as follows:
*original*
{code}
* 3. All advertising materials mentioning features or use of this software
* must display the following acknowledgement:
* This product includes software developed by the University of
* California, Berkeley and its contributors.
{code}
*new*
{code}
* 3. <BSD Advertising Clause omitted per the July 22, 1999 licensing change
* ftp://ftp.cs.berkeley.edu/pub/4bsd/README.Impt.License.Change>
{code}
Here is an external example of it's use:
