Just wanted to give a quick heads up on upcoming branch-1.0. According to [1], I was planning to create the branch yesterday, but I am holding off for finishing the hbase-10070 rebase work.
I have the rebased (as of yesterday) hbase-10070 branch compiling and passing most of the unit tests. The rebase has been a lot of mechanical fixing and some semantic fixes where the logic has changed (LB/AM changes for master-colocating, zk-less assignment, AP changes at the client side, scanner related changes, and region changes for mvcc-seqId). Rebased branch is at [2] if anyone is interested to take a look. Once we fix the remaining unit tests, and play with it to make sure that it looks good, I'll commit the merge to master and after that branch out 1.0. I expect that to happen before Friday. We will carry out the plan stated as option (b) in [1].
