So right now the only running HydraBase is internal to Facebook. We can't really answer for certain about what it will look like when it's fully integrated into Apache's master HBase.
With that caveat out of the way, Hydrabase is designed to improve reliability and performance in the face of hardware failures. It's designed to give you more data availability while servers are going into repair and disks are being flakey.
