When we are using distributed log splitting, we should have tools to show
what's going on. Right now, folks have to [follow the instructions in the ref
guide for manually poking around in
ZK|http://hbase.apache.org/book.html#distributed.log.splitting], which is error
prone esp given the presence of binary data.
