I was looking at Lars slides this morning. A bunch of his recommendations are
defaulted to align with his recommendations, especially in later versions, but
we should review and ensure we do as he suggests (or better). Need to also call
in out in refguide such as his critical HDFS configurations (or better, do as
he suggests, and not start if HDFS does not have synconclose set -- can't we
make these defaults in our hdfs-default.xml altogether?)
