    NamespaceDescriptor[] nd = admin.listNamespaceDescriptors();
    for(int i = 0; i < nd.length; i++){
      if(nd[i].getName().equals(namespaceName)){
        return true;
      }
    }
    return false;
  }

You can use the above code without triggering exception.
