We had a talk about this a while back, didn't we? I forget if we had
consensus about having it follow its own release schedule (rather than tying
it to HBase "internals") -- I think I suggested that anyways :P.
There was some discussion on a new repo / release cycle. IIRC you and
Ted were in favor. I'm not convinced yet, esp because I'm not
convinced we aren't using hbase internals. Haven't confirmed that yet.
The state of Scala / JDK9 will probably force the issue early next
year.
