There seems to be a problem with the bin-zip archive - Javadoc
directory is named CLASS-US instead of class-use.
Are you sure about that? The directory looks perfectly normal to me.
Also, many of the
zip files have additional lines at the end. This makes comparing the
archives very tedious.
Also, the src-zip has two extra directories:
httpcore-osgi\src\main
httpcore-osgi\src
main is empty.
This is ok. The OSGi bundler does not have any sources besides pom.xml.
It is merely a bundler.

No, there is not. The packages are build off the 4.0.x branch:

OK, I'll use that for checking for unexpected files.
I used Last Changed Rev: 784376 and the contents seem to agree with
the source archives, once one allows for the extra line ends and the
changes caused by $Date and $HeadURL expansion differences.
I've not yet tried building and testing; no time just now, but I hope
to do so in the next day or so.
