Thanks for your response.
I reused the StrictSSLProtocolSocketFactory class and tried to connect to the
server.The following exception
is thrown.

I tried the configuration test program given in the link
http://hc.apache.org/httpclient-3.x/sslguide.html
The line given below throwed exception.When i analysed this problem it is the
createSocket method
throwing the exception NULL(returned by ex.getMessage() method).
Socket socket = SSLSocketFactory.getDefault().
createSocket(TARGET_HTTPS_SERVER, TARGET_HTTPS_PORT);
So the problem occurs when i try creating a socket to the destination server.
Please let me know where the problem could be.
