[~rschmitt] I was unable to reproduce the performance issue. I do see a great
deal of small DATA frames but I do not have conclusive evidence that the
message multiplexer is the culprit. There still might be a problem with the
request handler implementation causing the framing fragmentation. I am
currently working on upgrading my old micro-benchmark to stress test the server
side HTTP/2 transport with messages of various length.
Please let me know if you want me to merge your patch in its present state. We
can optimize it further as we go along.
