Henri Yandell commented on HTTPCLIENT-2297: ------------------------------------------- Ah - that's my failing to find that page :) Always hard to know if it was me failing at something obvious, or if it's indicative of being hard to find. If folk think it's more than just my eyes, my suggestion would be to merge the Project section into the About section, with Status called Project Status and Charter called Project Charter. But no worries if folk think it's fine. Pondering the home page - should the recommendation to move to 4.1 be moving to a recommendation to move to 5.x? > Documenting HttpClient 4.x status > --------------------------------- > > Key: HTTPCLIENT-2297 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HTTPCLIENT-2297 > Project: HttpComponents HttpClient > Issue Type: Bug > Reporter: Henri Yandell > Priority: Major > > Hi HttpClient folk, > I noticed on > [https://github.com/apache/httpcomponents-core/pull/416#issuecomment-1688580065] > that 4.x is only receiving critical security and protocol fixes. I can see > on the final paragraph of the homepage ( > [https://hc.apache.org|https://hc.apache.org/] ) that 3.x is EOL, but I'm not > seeing any guidance on 4.x being on a deprecation path with limited updates. > Is a similar notice needed on the page now for 4.x? -- This message was sent by Atlassian Jira (v8.20.10#820010) --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: dev-unsubscr...@hc.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: dev-h...@hc.apache.org
