+1 on splitting the change into two phases.
part 1, why do we need to make host and port to be set explicitly, instead can
we not have a default value host:unknown port:-1. Theoretically only value
Helix cares is the id which is mandatory.
For step 2, lets try to continue the discussion in helix-19.
