Yes this is another example where we have two solutions, but neither is properly maintained.
https://heron.apache.org/docs/schedulers-k8s-with-helm https://heron.apache.org/docs/schedulers-k8s-by-hand I propose these get reduced into one. I am of the opinion that the Helm chart is very easy to install. Especially once we have the published helm chart in Artifactory it will be even easier. Another related task would be to produce example values.yml files for different configurations. I have appreciated this pattern when found in other repos such as Pulsar's Helm chart repo. https://github.com/apache/pulsar-helm-chart/tree/master/examples We should have a minikube config and others if there are other patterns. (i.e. minikube vs production or Bookkeeper vs S3). Once we get through this release, I can spend some time on cleaning up the yamls and documentation. If we want to maintain the extra yamls, we should still clean them up and make sure they are updated for new Kubernetes, do not have old bugs like the zookeeper split brain issue we fixed in the helm chart. Also we should still simplify into relevant use cases. Maybe minikube vs production. The GCE vs baremetal distinctions probably don't make sense anymore.
