Hi Heron devs,

I know the Apache Heron repository has yet to move to ASF infrastructure, but I
wanted to point out something that applies regardless of whether or not a
project is an ASF project.

When pulling in code from other projects (e.g. [1]), it isn’t appropriate to
assert Twitter’s copyright in the code. Regardless of whether the code includes
a copyright notice, the copyright belongs to the original author, not the
individual or organization copying the code. While in this case the fact that
the code is ALv2-licensed allows you to include the code in Heron, it does not
transfer copyright.
