Alexander Kasper created HIVE-9499: -------------------------------------- Summary: hive.limit.query.max.table.partition makes queries fail on non-partitioned tables Key: HIVE-9499 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HIVE-9499 Project: Hive Issue Type: Bug Affects Versions: 0.14.0 Reporter: Alexander Kasper
If you use hive.limit.query.max.table.partition to limit the amount of partitions that can be queried it makes queries on non-partitioned tables fail. Example: CREATE TABLE tmp(test INT); SELECT COUNT(*) FROM TMP; -- works fine SET hive.limit.query.max.table.partition=20; SELECT COUNT(*) FROM TMP; -- generates NPE (FAILED: NullPointerException null) SET hive.limit.query.max.table.partition=-1; SELECT COUNT(*) FROM TMP; -- works fine again -- This message was sent by Atlassian JIRA (v6.3.4#6332)
